Algebra Newsletter

in my newsletter i was looking up Egyptian Arithmetic. i was looking up how it works and how they did their math. their math was differrent in some ways and similar in others. to do their math they would use hieroglphics. they had symbols like a lotus plant a finger a frog or tadpole. these hieroglphs would represent big numbers like 100000000. the numbers they used would have a symbol for the powers of ten. then the egyptians would then have a number 1 sign represent 1-9 then from 10 to the second power is a different number and so on. the egyptians fractions are very similar to ours. we use the same method as the egyptians did. the math was completely different the subtraction was too. the multiplication was accurate but it would take to long the way they did it, so we came up with the timetable which is based on the Egyptians ways, but it way easier.
