Thesis/Intrdoction

Thesis:Everyone knows about Christopher Columbus and he was credited with the discovery of finding the Americas and the Indies, but that isn't true from the Native American point of view. That is true from the European view point. Many people thought Columbus was a great man & navigator. I would call Columbus a great navigator but a great man he was not. I think he was a fraud and a cruel, selfish man. Columbus' legacy was only of slavery and destruction. He enslaved the Native Americans and made them work to find gold and spices for himself and Spain. The Natives were taken from their homes & turned them into peasants for the King & Queen of Spain.
Intrdoction:Christopher Columbus sailed west across the Atlantic Ocean in search of a route to Asia but instead landfall in the Americas. Christopher Columbus unintentionally discovered the Americas for the counrty of Europe, their was still indigenous people of the Americas that were their millions of years before Christopher Columbus. Columbus was a cruel man he tricked the Native Americans into labor when all they did was great him with kindness and respect. I am talking going to talk about the cruel things he did to the Native Americans, what he really wanted to travel for and the what he hoped he would get from discovering some land.

Christopher Columbus

This is about the voyages that Christopher Columbus took and whether he got lucky or if he was a great adventurer. Many people say that he got lucky but some others disagree. Most people from Spain and Italy say he was great because it was a great discovery for those two Nations. I think Christopher Columbus was a monster because his legacy involves slavery and destruction. He wanted to get rich quick so he did his homework and went to the king gut he said no then he went to the queen and she agreed with his terms of keeping a third of what he found, unfortunately it didn't work out that way. In a picture there are three different interpretations of what Christopher Columbus. He was holding a gun with four men around him but that was interpreted as his dominance but why did he have to bring guns and weapons of any sort. Christopher Columbus to me was cruel and a selfish man that may be the reason why he couldn't get rich.

Christopher Colombus Hero or Monster?

I chose this Christopher Colombus as my NHD individual in history because many people call him a monster and others call him a hero for finding America. The politically correct view is that Columbus did not discover America, because people had lived here for thousands of years. It's claimed, the main legacy of Columbus is death and destruction. But the question is did Colombus "discover" America? Yes--in every important respect. That doesn't mean that no human eye has been cast on America before him, but it does mean that Christopher Colombus brought America to the attention of the civilized world. Columbus is vilified as a symbol of slavery and genocide, and the celebration of his arrival likened to a celebration of Hitler. Most Europeans think he is a hero but that is different story for the Native Americans. Question still stands if Christopher Colombus is a hero or monster.
